Description Habitat: Sandy soils in disturbed sites, lawns, waste areas and roadsides.
Plant: Annual or biennial with decumbent or erect, much-branched stems, 4 to 16 inches long; stems pubescent-hairy.
Leaves: Trifoliate stem leaves, ovate to obovate, 0.3 to 0.6 inches long and usually half as wide; edges are dentate.
Inflorescence: Congested globe-like cluster of small yellow flowers arising from upper leaf axils on peduncles 3/8 to 1-1/8 inches long; each pea-like flower about 1/4-inch long with long banner extending outward rather than upward.
Bloom Period: March to May.
