| Description | Habitat: Sandy soils on hillsides, plains, brushlands, woodland openings and disturbed sites. Plant: Prostrate, sprawing or somewhat upright perennial with branching stems up to 40 inches long; herbage covered with fine woolly hairs giving the plant a silver-gray appearance. Leaves: Opposite, elliptic to obovate blades are 3/8 to 1-1/4 inches long and up to 3/8-inch wide; edges slightly serrate; surfaces are densely covered with white hairs. Inflorescence: One or two flowers growing in the leaf axils, each about 1/2-inch across and with a corolla that is 5-lobed, blue-purple to lavender with a white throat and purple streaks.
